  4. Joshua Greene:

My mother had a dream, she woke up my father and was like, ‘You need to call Marilyn. You need to call her right now. I don’t know what it is, but you need to call her. They haven’t spoken — we’re talking from 57 to 62. He called her on the phone and they talked for two and a half hours. They both loved being on the phone. Milton said, ‘Look, I’m going to Paris to do a collection, I’ll be back in a month. I’ll come out and see you and we’ll spend some time together.’ Two and a half weeks by and he was still in Paris. A friend called and said, ‘Have you seen the paper? Marilyn was found dead in her home in California.’.

  5. Christy Zito:

I stand here before you today as a mother and grandmother who has had to use a firearm to defend their child, even though I didnt have to pull the trigger, just the fact that they could see it, and they knew that I had it, was the determining factor. In that section, I see the following words as the top returns; have,
      get,
      find,
      go,
      make, t
      ake ....

What's the relationship of all of those words to the word "mother"? Can you explain?

Very interesting. It does seem to make a whole lot more sense now. At least we can see entries like "mom", "mommy" and "mama which are excellent, and absolutely useful. But I'm very curious to see why and how the word "get" goes at the top of the list? And secondly, could you let me know what those numbers really mean such as get being 77, and parent being 1771? how do people make use of those numbers?

    • acronimous
Apparently 'get' is also an alternative word for mother in some sense according to the Princeton Wordnet project, therefore it is included in the list.

The numbers associated with the terms are basically the rank of the specific word, among the other words, in terms of usage popularity as it has been calculated using a large corpus of text -- so 'get' is very high on the 77th position of the most popular words in english, while 'parent' is at position #1,771. 'mammy' is very uncommon at place #80267...

      Hope that helps.
