How to use after-school in a sentence?
A lot of our customers are people who happen to be walking by, and they come in a little surprised and amused by a shop that just sells pencils, but we also get a lot of word-of-mouth business from journalists, designers, architects and kids coming in after school. I love seeing kids get excited about pencils. Adults remember the smell, the tactile sensation of writing with a freshly sharpened pencil.
We're trying to actively get more kids involved with after-school programs such as computer literacy, teaching them how to write essays, math, social studies, science, this is what's needed for these inner-city youths to keep them active. If they don't have no parks to go to, no boys and girls clubs, no after-school activities, what do you expect, they're going to get in trouble.
It is absolutely shocking to me to find out that particularly kindergarten students (who) are not supposed to have any homework at all ... are getting as much homework as a third-grader is supposed to get, anybody who's tried to keep a 5-year-old at a table doing homework for 25 minutes after school knows what that's like. I mean children don't want to be doing, they want to be out playing, they want to be interacting and that's what they should be doing. That's what's really important.
After school let out at 3:20 p.m.a large group of approximately 100 gathered in the downtown area. Small fights would break out and the group would travel from block to block. Several people from the group were jumping on vehicles and filming the altercations.
