English Synonyms and Antonyms
episode
Etymologically, the incident is that which falls in, the event that which comes out; event is thus greater and more signal than incident; we speak of trifling incidents, great events; incidents of daily life, events of history. Circumstance agrees with incident in denoting a matter of relatively slight importance, but implies a more direct connection with the principal matter; "circumstantial evidence" is evidence from seemingly minor matters directly connected with a case; "incidental evidence" would be some evidence that happened unexpectedly to touch it. An occurrence is, etymologically, that which we run against, without thought of its origin, connection or tendency. An episode is connected with the main course of events, like an incident or circumstance, but is of more independent interest and importance. Outcome is the Saxon, and event the Latin for expressing the same original idea. Consequence or result would express more of logical connection, and be more comprehensive. The end may be simple cessation; the event is what has been accomplished; the event of a war is victory or defeat; the end of the war is reached when a treaty of peace is signed. Since the future is contingent, event comes to have the meaning of a contingency; as, in the event of his death, the policy will at once fall due. Compare CIRCUMSTANCE; CONSEQUENCE; END.

How to use episode in a sentence?
As a result I grasped the intruder firmly in order to remove her from the room as swiftly as possible. I deeply regret this episode and unreservedly apologize to the lady concerned for grabbing her, but in the current climate I felt the need to act decisively to close down the threat to the safety of those present.
Remember the first one? Atwood said referring to Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Two guys fly a plane in the middle of something and blow that up? The only difference is, in‘Star Wars,’ they get away, right after 9/11, they hired a bunch of Hollywood screenwriters to tell them how the story might go next. Sci-fi writers are very good at this stuff, anticipating future events. They don’t all come true, but there are interesting ‘what if’ scenarios.
This episode is another example for the Clintons of how, if you do business with them, they will do something for you.
I don't think I've ever watched an episode of anything more than once in my life, but now it's become a thing where people choose their shows, like' Parks and Recreation,' and it's their medicine — they treat it the way I treated' Abbey Road' or' OK Computer.'.
When you watch a show on regular TV and it’s over, you have to wait until next week to see the next episode, just like when you go to the gym, you stop working out when your body has had enough; the dumbbells aren’t egging you on to do more.
