Silence encourages the tormentors not the tormented
There was a message in the story and why the rape needed to be there… but maybe the scene could have been left out, as tormented as the male character was.
It's really unfair that people can't get a real hearing, and they get put on a list and nobody can tell them why they're there, and they go through for years and years and they have to be tormented. It just doesn't make any sense.
